From Volumetry to Intelligent Biostimulation: Controlled Regeneration as the Future of Aesthetic Medicine
Autologous exosomes are considered the future of medicine. Already today, they are successfully used in regenerative medicine, dermatology, orthopedics, wound treatment, and trichology. The greatest challenge lies in their acquisition. The scientific world is still researching various methods of isolating exosomes from biological material, including blood. However, there are effective and simple ways to obtain plasma concentrate with exosomes that can be performed in an office setting. One of these is AutologIX – a protocol using ultrafiltration and ultraconcentration technology with the help of an innovative, tested medical system. In her daily practice, it is used by Dr. Aleksandra Strobel-Pytel, an aesthetic medicine doctor and founder of the Perfect Harmony Institute of Aesthetic Medicine in Gdansk, Poland.

Dr. Aleksandra Strobel-Pytel is a graduate of the Medical University of Gdańsk with a degree in medicine, a member of the Polish Society of Aesthetic and Anti-Aging Medicine, the Polish Society of Lifestyle Medicine, the Polish Trichological Association, the Polish Ultrasound Society, and EFSUMB – the European Federation of Societies for Ultrasound in Medicine and Biology. She is a trainer in aesthetic medicine. Winner of the LipsID Case Report Teoxane East Europe 2022 award for the best hyaluronic acid lip modeling. Recipient of the Polish Businesswoman Awards in the category Leader of Innovative Anti-Aging Methods.
I have been using platelet-rich plasma and fibrin for a long time, but I began looking for a “stronger” alternative, especially for patients requiring intensive skin regeneration or those with complications after aesthetic medicine procedures, particularly patients who travel from far away for a single day and need treatments that provide results without the need for frequent repetition. I considered nanofat, but this procedure is more complicated and time-consuming, and moreover many patients are frightened by the phrase “we need to harvest fat.” I therefore lacked an autologous procedure that would fill the gap between lipotransfer and plasma and fibrin. This is how I came across AutologIX – a kit that allows the acquisition of concentrated platelet-rich plasma with its own exosomes. Thanks to the hemofiltration set, we truly obtain platelet-RICH plasma here, with all its richness and regenerative potential.
There is currently a boom in exosomes on our market. I encountered them several years ago at a conference in Bangkok. In Asia and the United States, human exosomes are used (e.g., from fat, from another donor), which is prohibited in the European Union. So I admired the beautiful effects, but we had no alternative available in Poland. Plant-derived exosomes are, of course, very popular, but we must remember that these are cosmetic products and cannot be injected into the skin, so their effect will always be limited. Eventually, I came across AutologIX from Beautyeurope.eu – a protocol that provides us with concentrated plasma together with the possibility of using our own exosomes.
What are exosomes and how do they work?
Exosomes are a very interesting biological phenomenon. Each of us is a powerful factory of these unique nanovesicles, which are secreted by all cells of the body and perform important functions in intercellular communication pathways. They are microscopic signalers that send “SMS messages, short messages” to cells, telling them how to respond. They contain various signaling factors and components, such as proteins or nucleic acids. Thanks to their ability to mediate intercellular communication, they regulate inflammatory processes, participate in many physiological processes, and support wound healing. Autologous kits (both plasma-based and fat-based) allow us to obtain a high-quality biological product enriched with exosomes. In my opinion, this is the key to understanding how this product works. I explain to patients that this is a treatment stronger than plasma – it is as if I performed a series of plasma treatments in a single visit. Accordingly, we observe intensified effects after just one procedure.
For example, I am treating a patient after a laser complication. We have been working quite intensively for a long time with autologous treatments: plasma and fibrin, in various configurations. The patient always told me: “I can see that the skin is improving, but I still have to imagine a lot.” Meanwhile, after the AutologIX procedure, when she came to the office after 3 months, she said that no treatment since the onset of the complication had helped her as much as this procedure.
Indications for the procedure
AutologIX works very well for damaged skin with a compromised hydrolipid barrier, such as in patients with post-procedure complications. This patient’s skin regenerated very poorly, did not absorb cosmetics, and was constantly irritated. AutologIX provided very good remodeling and regeneration. I also really like performing this procedure on relatively young people – we are not talking about people in their twenties, but patients around 30 years of age, whom I do not yet qualify for strong stimulators. Although many young patients ask me about biostimulators, I always repeat that one should go “step by step,” just like with taking painkillers. After all, we do not reach for opioids when ordinary paracetamol works. The same applies to skin care – if it is sufficient, we start with more natural methods. AutologIX allows maintaining good skin quality also in people who do not want too much intervention.
I also use it in patients who react poorly to various fillers because they retain water and swell. When we administer AutologIX, they heal faster after fillers, and I truly have many satisfied patients with this combination. Moreover, autologous exosomes can be used in people in whom we are afraid to administer stimulators. In such cases, our hands are tied and after mesotherapy, practically only autologous preparations remain. In my experience, patients after exosomes are not as swollen as after fibrin, which due to its structure can cause, of course transient, edema, so the patient returns more quickly to social functioning. At the same time, we achieve stronger tissue regeneration.
AutologIX is also excellent for… building a good relationship with a new patient. A large group of patients – I think in every clinic – are people who do not want “foreign” (in their perception) substances injected into their skin, such as hyaluronic acid, because they fear an artificial effect. If we propose a treatment from this group, they will certainly be more sensitive to everything that may happen afterward. They do not know us yet, they do not trust us, and if they are not satisfied, it will be difficult to continue cooperation with them. On the other hand, performing treatments that produce very small effects – sometimes even invisible or developing over a long time – can also discourage such patients. And here AutologIX is a very good solution – it is a natural treatment that at the same time provides very nice, visual, and measurable effects for the patient.
I also recommend it to people with allergies, sensitive skin, or atopy. I have a patient with a significant history of allergies to various medications who is simply afraid of preparations other than autologous ones. She is delighted with AutologIX and sees a significant difference in skin quality afterward. It is also a good choice for dry skin, with irritation and sun damage. AutologIX also provides excellent effects in the case of acne scars – I use it as an adjunctive therapy and administer it directly into the scar. I think it will work perfectly in wound treatment. Patients also observe evening of skin tone and reduction of redness after the procedure, which may be related to skin thickening and strengthening of blood vessels as well as the suppression of inflammation. AutologIX can therefore be included in the therapy of rosacea as an adjunctive method, but here – due to the inflammatory component and the complexity of the problem – I recommend a very thorough case assessment and patient qualification.
As for its use in trichology, the best results are observed especially in the therapy of androgenetic alopecia and in patients after hair transplantation. The effects build up much faster than after traditional plasma, which already has very good studies in alopecia therapy, and they are more visible to patients.
Effects of the procedure
When do the effects appear after administering autologous exosomes? It depends on the patient. Most see results a month after the procedure, but there are patients who say that 2–3 days later they already see that the skin becomes brighter and more firm.
Exosomes in combination therapies
Autologous products fit beautifully into combination therapies, such as with hyaluronic acid, devices, and stimulators. In the case of very poor-quality skin, I perform AutologIX before reaching for stimulators and fillers to properly prepare the tissues. Sometimes I also treat this procedure as the “cherry on top.” For example, we perform a comprehensive “full face” procedure with fillers, but the skin quality still requires work, and the patient, due to “social disturbance,” cannot afford multiple repeated injections because she cannot function socially with a punctured face. Here AutologIX is invaluable – after just one procedure, we obtain a nice, visual effect visible to the patient.
I also really like combining AutologIX with devices, such as radiofrequency or laser therapy. I am not a supporter of performing both procedures during one visit, but I often weave exosomes in between subsequent sessions. If we want to use them in one session, remember that the skin should be cooled due to the risk of biomaterial damage by high energy. Personally, however, I definitely prefer to separate these treatments, which also gives the skin time to remodel, although of course everything depends on the device, the depth at which we worked, the parameters used, etc.
In summary, AutologIX is an innovative method that allows effective and natural skin regeneration and supports trichological therapies. Thanks to its use, we can offer patients safe, predictable, and visible effects, while at the same time avoiding concerns related to administering foreign substances. It is a solution that perfectly fits the needs of modern patients, especially younger ones or those with problematic skin, who are looking for both effectiveness and naturalness of therapy.
What distinguishes AutologIX?
- AutologIX is a regenerative therapy system that uses advanced ultrafiltration technology (molecular filtration 15 kDa, pore size <5 nm).
- It physically concentrates ALL biological regenerative components 5×, achieving up to 3.0 × 10¹³ particles/ml.
- The method involves centrifugation and ultrafiltration to remove plasma water and isolate exosomes, cells, proteins, and fibrin. It retains and concentrates exosomes, growth factors (PDGF, TGF-β, VEGF, FGF), cytokines, plasma proteins, platelets, and fibrin. H
- AutologIX processes 30 ml of plasma, allowing the acquisition of 5-7 ml of concentrate, which means 100% utilization.
- In 5-7 ml it delivers: 180-210 trillion exosome particles, a 47% increase in PDGF-bb, approximately a 50% increase in total proteins, 70–95% platelet recovery with concentration, full concentration of cytokines and chemokines, and fibrin.
- Full compliance with MISEV2023, comprehensive characterization (NTA, Western Blot, Flow Cytometry, TEM, ELISA), published Phase I safety study (n=30), CE-MDR Class IIa regulations.
- Preparation of the mesotherapy product takes approximately 15-20 minutes.
- The manufacturer recommends, for regeneration and revitalization treatments, 1 procedure every 9-16 months, and in the case of alopecia and the scalp – 2 procedures every 2-3 weeks and then a repeat of the series after 9–16 months.
